The USA today. My view.

The United States of America is a rogue state.

According to today's commentators, the decision to denounce the international nuclear agreement with Iran would be a catastrophe in the making because it does jeopardize the international non-proliferation accord on atomic weapons.

An atomic bomb in the hands of the ayatollahs could be a serious threat for the planet.

Of course, like all sensible people, I believe that opening this Pandora box was crazy.

The US was unreasonable and made the entire planet take an unwise risk.

But let's be optimistic, the risks may not materialize. It is not impossible that Iranian wisdom will prevail in spite of the irresponsible attitude of the USA.

But this situation has other unpleasant immediate consequences that cannot be ignored.

Do not believe that it is only a matter of restoring the trade embargo with Iran in order to force them to change.

The United States of America is still – at least for the time being - the world's greatest power and, as such, is a pillar of international institutions (such as UN, IMF, WTO, etc.) on which partly rests the fragile political and economic peace between countries.

But the situation has changed dramatically as of today.

Indeed, today the United States of America has told the rest of the world that all agreements and contracts they have concluded with their political, economic and even military partners do not commit them. Thus may be unilaterally denounced in spite of national or international laws governing them. 

Now that they have decided that the signature of the United States of America is worthless, countries must ponder what are the consequences for all existing agreements passed with them.

Also, all future agreements currently being negotiated should be reconsidered, since we can no longer trust promises made by a rogue state that has already said and demonstrated that its signature does not mean anything.

The United States of America, a mafia state.

If the United States of America was just a rogue state, having to be wary of this military, economic and political juggernaut would not be easy for other countries.

But, unfortunately, that's not all! Not only is it a rogue state but it is also a mafia state that uses its power to force others to become thugs too.

Indeed, the United States of America are not content to say that their signature is worthless.

They say that since the United States of America denounced their participation in the agreement with Iran, the boycott of Iran must be re-established by all the other parties of this agreement. Thus, armed with their power, they promise criminal and economic sanctions to any enterprise that dares to maintain the activities it has undertaken or is preparing to engage with Iran in accordance with the possibilities of the agreement in question.

The concert of nations having let the monster grow we  will never be relaxed again.
